FAQ

Want to learn more about SmAArt Cast services?

We have prepared answers to the most frequently asked questions about SmAArt Cast, our services and experience.
  • How can we stay confident that our drawings do not end up in the hands of our competitors?
We take data security seriously. All projects are handled under a non-disclosure agreement, and no drawings or information are shared without your explicit approval. Design and commercial data are stored on secure cloud systems with restricted access and robust data-protection measures, ensuring your information remains fully confidential.
  • Can you help us find a Chinese supplier that already has patterns for our specific manganese steel wear parts?
Yes. We have a vast database of casting suppliers from China who already produce comparable parts.
We assess whether existing patterns can be safely and legally reused. This can significantly reduce tooling time and cost, while ensuring compatibility with your technical and performance requirements.
  • We want to source spare parts directly from China but are concerned about dealing with intermediaries or scammers instead of manufacturers. Can you help?
Yes. We help you distinguish real manufacturers from trading companies by verifying production capabilities, foundry facilities, certifications, and reference projects. We also work with trusted partners on the ground in major manufacturing countries who can visit suppliers and carry out on-site assessments, ensuring you engage directly with qualified manufacturers.
  • Can you support a production transfer from India to South Africa?
Absolutely. We manage production transfers end-to-end: supplier screening, technical documentation alignment, quality benchmarking, trial castings, and ramp-up support. The goal is a smooth transition with minimal disruption to cost, lead time, and part performance.
  • What if we receive inconsistent quality from multiple suppliers and want to balance it?
This is a common issue. We help you define a clear technical baseline, align specifications and quality criteria across suppliers, and implement comparable inspection and acceptance standards. This allows you to stabilize quality, reduce variability, and make suppliers directly comparable.
  • Can you provide a reference list?
We will send our reference list as well as letters of recommendation from our clients for your confidence.
Please send us a request at mail@smaartcast.com
  • What was the maximum number of cores in a casting developed by you?
Up to the date it was 23.
  • Do you have experience in casting of wear parts for cone crushers?
We do have experience with development of foundry practices for mantle and bowl liner parts of a cone cruser and cone liners for a large-scale gyratory crushers as well as fixed jaw and movable jaws for jaw crushers. The parts' foundry practices were successfully launched into serial production in high-manganese austenitic steel grades.
